Visitation for Eloise Rea Stokes will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 11 AM to 12 PM at First Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi with the service to begin at 12 PM. Graveside service will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Philadelphia, MS.

Mrs. Stokes, 96, passed away on December 26, 2024 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Mississippi.

She was born to Lewis J. Rea and Mattie Reed Rea on January 20, 1928. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Philadelphia. She graduated from East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi. She enjoyed spending time with her friends playing bridge and traveling. She was a devoted homemaker.

She is survived by her son, Harold Daniel Stokes (Betty), her daughters, Amba Ogletree (Buddy), and Stacey Lynn Stokes; six grandchildren, Chad Stokes (Debra), Jami Thornton (Chad), Danielle Lynch (Logan), Elizabeth Sprick (Matthew), Cameron Ogletree, and Murphy Ogletree (Makenzie); nine great-grandchildren, Olivia Claire Lamar (Giles), Sydney Noel Stokes, Megan Elise Stokes, Sophie Caroline Risher, Carson Wyatt Lynch (13), Juliet Rea Lynch (10), Sara Isabel Sprick (7), Anna Rose Sprick (5), and Junia Eden Sprick (2). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Stokes.

Memorials in her honor may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, P.O. Box 2177, Tupelo, Mississippi 38803.
