 Elois Scott Mobley, lovingly known as “Mawmaw,” passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, at the age of 94 at Helen Keller Hospital. She was born in Vina, Alabama, and spent most of her life in Red Bay, Alabama, where she built a legacy rooted in love, family, and simple joys.  She was a member of Vina First Baptist Church.

Elois loved cooking meals that brought everyone together, spending time working in her yard, and most of all, being surrounded by her family. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and unconditional love, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 8th at 4:30 at Red Bay City Cemetery with Bro. Steve Ledbetter officiating. Deaton Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her children, Linda Garrison, Johnny Mobley (Tracy), and Leisa Mobley. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Jena Dillingham, Kristy Blunt (Mark), Josh Garrison (Kelly), Edgar Verchot (April), Lori Carpenter (Jeff), Eric Verchot, Anna Mobley, and Ethan Mobley (Josiane), along with a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who brought her immense pride and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Allie Overton Scott; her beloved husband of 63 years, John Mobley; and her daughter, Deborah Verchot.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Dillingham, Sam Garrison, Ben Blunt, Josh Garrison, Mark Blunt and Will Cleveland.
