Elois Irene Ash Holbert “Lois”, 76, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on April 25, 2017 following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. Services will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 at noon at Roselawn Funeral Home with Reverend Martin Poe officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Edith Ash; sisters, Helen Ivy and Dorothy Brill; and brother, Freddie Ash.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Redding “Skip” Holbert Sr.; daughter, Rhonda Morris; three stepsons, Redding Holbert Jr., Nathan Holbert and Danny Holbert; two sisters, Betty Champion and Judy Rawlings (John); brother, Robert Ash (Barbara); four grandchildren, Mikki and Nikki Holbert and Eli and Danelle Holbert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lois was born in Odenville on Aug. 7, 1940. She graduated from Leeds High School where she was a majorette and Alverson Draughon Business School in Birmingham. She retired from the General Electric plant in Decatur after 18 years. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a devoted Christian. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
