Mrs. Elnater Woods Malone, 78, departed this life on April 21, 2017 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. A Celebration of Life service will begin at noon Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Edward Owens officiating and inhumation to follow in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home. Public viewing will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Malone was born November 20, 1938 in Decatur to the late George and Carrie Mae Sanders Woods. Elnater accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of Shiloh M.B. Church. Elnater was a 1957 graduate of Lakeside High School. She retired from 3M Corporation as an operator.
She was married to the late Bennie Lee Malone and was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her step-father, Reverend Ellie Matthews; sister, Mollie May Woods; and brother, Ernest King.
She leaves to cherish her memory six children, the Rev. Karlon (Barbara) Fletcher, Gina Watkins, Michael Fletcher, Tracey (Alvin) Moseley, Vickie Woods (Eddie Taylor), and Christopher (Lachandra) Malone, all of Decatur; two goddaughters, Charlotte (Rickie) Miles, of Decatur, and Beverly (Clyde) Jackson, of Priceville; four brothers, Richard Reed, Ellie (Gladys) Matthews Jr., Robert (Teresa) Woods, all of Decatur, and James Thomas (Pat) Woods, of Lakeshore, New Jersey; two sisters, Mildred Jones, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Mary Ann Woods, of Oakland, California; one aunt, Annie Austin, of Hillsboro; one sister-in-law, Alice King of Hartselle; 24 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
