Funeral service for Rev. Elmer N. Rollins, 87, will be Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Henderson officiating and his grandchildren will read a poem and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Rev. Rollins died on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at his residence. He was born January 3, 1926, in Morgan County to Andrew Vandy Rollins and Nettie (Roberts) Rollins. Rev. Rollins was a retired minister from Chapel Baptist and also Bell Springs Baptist. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran who served aboard the NRS-Birmingham, AL, NTC-Great Lakes, IU, Tad.- Cen Shoemaker, CA, USS Graffias (AF-29), and USS Molaia (ATF-106). He received victory medals and an Asiatic Pacific Medal. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.
