Ellis Junior Sargent age 83 of Jasper, was born July 15, 1933 and went home to be with the Lord on Monday May 8, 2017.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Funeral services will be Thursday May 11, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. James Watkins and Deacon Gary Woods will officiate. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Wednesday night 6-8 pm at Dora Second Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Belle Tinker; father, L.B. Irving Sargent; sons, Ervin Ellis Sargent and Michael Jerome Sargent; grandson, Zakry Ellis Sargent; brothers, Luther and Lewis Sargent; and sisters, Helen Jo Belcher and Gloria Fay Tuggle.
Survivors include his wife Wanda Marie Sargent; daughters, Magara “Gay” Woods and husband Gary, Bobbie Doyle and husband Donnie and Teresa Sargent; stepdaughters, Marie Howard and husband David and Kimberly Sawyer and husband Jesse; stepson, Paul Roberts and wife Jennie; twenty four grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Lawson and Evelyn Yow; brothers, MacArthur Sargent and wife Judy and Terry Sargent and wife Demarise; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
