Ellen Josephine Barry, age 89 of Union Grove, Alabama died Wednesday – March 23, 2016 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mrs. Barry was born on September 20, 1926 in Rhea County Tennessee to Edward James Newell and Ruth Green Newell. She was a homemaker, a member of the Gardening Club, Book Club and Friends of the Library. She was married to Kenneth McCallie Barry for 68 years, and had lived in the Union Grove area since 1981, moving here from Lake Park Florida.
She was a member of Unitarian Universalist Church in Huntsville Alabama.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Kenneth McCallie Barry; sons: Steve Barry (Becky), Andrew Barry (Stella), Phillip Barry, David Barry (Stephanie), Don Barry (Janet); grandchildren: Daniel Barry, Autumn Barry, Faye Barry, Alex Knobel, Rebecca Aspell (Robert), John McCauley, Phillip McCauley (Jennifer) and Daniel Sharp; seven great grandchildren and a sister: Alice Newell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward James Newell & Ruth Green Newell and one son, Kenneth Edgar Barry.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday – March 26, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Rev. Alice Syltle and Louise Hartman officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
Pallbearers will be Steve Barry, Andrew Barry, Phillip Barry, David Barry, Don Barry and Daniel Barry.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm. – 2:00 p.m. at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel prior to the service.
