Ella Mae ClaridyElla Mae Claridy, of Toney, Alabama, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at her residence.
Ella was born on Thursday, May 28, 1942, to the late Mr. William Clifton McElyea and Mrs. Ruby Jewel Whitehead McElyea in Elora, Tennessee.
She spent a majority of her life in Northern Alabama, where she was of the Catholic faith.
In Ella’s free time, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, Frank Claridy. She was an avid Alabama football Fan and enjoyed dancing at the Picking and Grinning in Ardmore. Ella was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Huntsville, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, two brothers: Douglas McElyea and Frankie McElyea, as well as one sister, Margie Mooney.
Ella is survived by her husband Frank Claridy of Alabama, two sons; Kenny Harbin of Decatur, Alabama, Randy Harbin of Toney, Alabama, one step-son, Michael Claridy of Toney, Alabama, one brother Ronnie McElyea of Fayetteville, Tennessee, eight grand children well as ten great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Graveside service will be on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 12:00 PM (NOON). Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Father Joseph P. Lubrand S.D.S. will officiate the service.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
