Mary Elizabeth Sims Kelley Profile Photo Elizabeth Kelley, age 89, passed away on June 7, 2025, at NHC Columbia, Walnut Lane, in Columbia, Tennessee.

Elizabeth was born August 19, 1935, to Robert Alexander Sims and Mary Elizabeth Seaton Sims of Maury County and the community of Mt. Joy. She had 10 siblings; she was the youngest and last remaining child.

She worked as a seamstress in Columbia for Tennessee Knitting Mills for years, also worked for Mt. Pleasant MFG.

She loved sitting on her front porch; she also loved her dog Prissy and her cat Kitty Kat. She was a great cook and meals at her house were a great treat for everyone. She also had a great sense of humor and enjoyed her coffee every morning. She loved and protected her children all of her days.

Both her and her husband were baptized into Christ in 1995. She was a member of the Main St Church of Christ, and she loved her church family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Paul Kelley, in 1996.

She is survived by her four children: her daughter, Diane (George) Thorne of Mt. Pleasant; her son, Charles (Sally) Kelley of San Francisco, CA; her son, Steve (Naomi) Kelley of Mt. Pleasant; and her son, David (Jane) Kelley of Mt. Pleasant. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Christy Baxter, Sarah Lovell, Brandy Chiddister, Brooke Kelley, Brittany Kelley, Jonathan Kelley, Corrie Haywood, and Matthew Kelley. In addition, she leaves behind four great-grandchildren: ElizaJane Chiddister, Karsyn Chiddister, Shawn Baxter, and Emerson Kelley.

The family will receive friends on Friday June 13, 2025, from 4pm-8pm at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.

A funeral service will be held June 14, 2025, at 10:00am at the same location with Randy Kersey officiating. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, Tennessee.

Pallbearers with be Jonathan Kelley, Kevin Chiddister, Caleb Haywood, Shawn Baxter, Alex Lovell and Matthew Kelley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Sims, Ricky Glass, Ed Brown, Sharon McCarley and the staff at NHC Columbia.

Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
