Elizabeth Jean Smith, 80, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, at her home. She was born on July 20, 1946, in Tupelo, MS, to Henry Edward Richards and Josephine Hernden Wheeler Richards. She loved hummingbirds, sunflowers, and working in her flower beds. She had a special love for her dog, Ace. She especially loved spending time with her family and serving the Lord.
Services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie, MS. Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery in Plantersville.
Survivors includer her bother-in-law and caregiver, Timothy Danovski of Fulton; one brother, Jack “Doug” Richards of Mantachie; one sister, Ann Smith of Mooreville; two grandchildren, T.J. Danovski, Jr. and Shae Danovski; two great grandchildren, Noel and Kacey Danovski; one brother-in-law, Terry Danovski of Fulton; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” O. Smith; brother, Edwin Richards; and one sister Jennifer Richards.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time on Sunday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
