Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Bell,79, of Scottsboro / Decatur, AL. passed away peacefully on Saturday in Huntsville hospital.
Visitation will be at noon on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at First Baptist Church Scottsboro, AL.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. also on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 with Rev. Blake Kersey officiating at First Baptist Church Scottsboro, AL.
Jane was born in Albertville to Nellie Elizabeth Eller Smith and Olen Darrow Smith on September 28, 1944. She married “Buddy” Phillip Wayne Bell on March 6, 1969. She graduated from Albertville High School and attended Snead State Junior College. Jane worked as a bookkeeper at Scottsboro High School for over 20 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Scottsboro and First Baptist Church Decatur. She was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved the Lord, her family and friends dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, “Buddy” Phillip Wayne Bell; son Corey Hamilton Bell; parents, Nellie Elizabeth Eller Smith and Olen Darrow Smith.
She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Bell Smith (Chad) and Jodi Bell Adkins; her siblings, Betty Jean Lobsiger (John), Angie Jerry Smith (Eleanor); her grandchildren, Kali Grider Hollingsworth (Blake), Baylie Bell Hyatt (Mark), Jenna Elizabeth Adkins, Belle Elizabeth Smith, Blaire Emmerson Smith; great grandchildren, Norah Jane Smith, and Katie Beth Hyatt; nieces and nephews, Richard Ellis, Christina Ellis and Olen Smith.
Pallbearers will be Chad Smith, Mark Hyatt, Blake Hollingsworth, Jamie Jenkins, Richard Ellis, Olen Smith (H).
In lieu of flowers donation or memorials can be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation or The Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation.
