Elizabeth Fraser Lyons – Obituary

Elizabeth Fraser Lyons, 80, retired nurse at Bright Glade Nursing Home and resident of Memphis, died Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jeffrey Talley officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born September 11, 1937 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late William C. “Bill” Fraser and the late Maxine Elizabeth Moffette Fraser. On June 14, 1969, she married James Eugene Lyons who preceded her in death May 2, 2013. Mrs. Lyons was a 1955 graduate of Columbia Central High School and earned her Nursing Degree at Columbia State Community College.

Survivors include her children, Randy (Melinda) Brown, Sohn C. (Angie) Lyons, Carol (Ernie) Broughton, Jerry Lyons, Ronnie Lyons; grandchildren, Missy Redd, Ashley Lyons, Britne Mabry, Jenny Brown, Meaghan Lyons, Billy Brown, Toby Swindler, Chris Lyons, Ronnie Lyons, Jr.; and fourteen great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Fraser Johns.

Pallbearers will be Toby Swindler, Ronnie Lyons, Sr., Jerry Lyons, Billy Brown, Deon Taylor, Cory Redd, Ron Stewart, Robert Mabry, and Reymundo Munez.
