bettyElizabeth D. “Betty” Blaha, 88, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014. Born June 16, 1925, in Pennsylvania, she was a longtime resident of Florence, Ala. before moving to Concord Township/Painesville Township, Ohio in 1970. She moved to Jacksonville, Fla. four months ago.

Mrs. Blaha was a homemaker and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Survivors are her children, Kathryn (William) Ehman, of Orlando, Fla., Ellen (Richard) Porter, of Jacksonville, Fla., Ann (Steve) Blue, of Winona, Minn., and Richard J. (Jayne) Blaha, of Perry, Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Porter, Jennifer Porter, Kate (Fausto) Serrano, Ben (Cigi Stone) Ehman, Steven and Amanda Blue, and Emily, Meghan, and Michael Blaha; great-grandchildren, Landon, Brady, Sophia, and Gabriel Serrano. She was the sister of Joanne Ballway and Jeanne Delagrange and sister-in-law of Ruth Urban.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. “Dick” Blaha, and her parents, Charles and Irene Rapp.

The funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Cyprian Catholic Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Rd., Perry, OH 44081. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. today at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Painesville. Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Blaha to the charity of your choice . The online obituary can be viewed at brunners.com
