Elizabeth (Betty) Marie Buford Stewart passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the age of 93 years.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Clifton Stewart, parents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kenneth Buford, and one
sister Phyllis Sandlin.
She leaves behind four daughters, Cynthia Sue McGee (Ricky) of Fayetteville, TN, Mary Marguerite Baites (Howard) of Brownsboro, Janet Lee Moon (Pat) of Muscle Shoals, and Lydia Rebecca Bolton (Doug) of Huntsville; one son Charles Clifton Stewart, Jr. (Tim) of Long Beach, CA.; 8 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was born in Brownsville, Texas on August 11, 1930 and moved to Huntsville when she was a small child. She graduated from Huntsville High
School. She was married for 72 years and grieved tremendously when her husband passed away. She was a talented artist who loved spending hours playing with her paints painting pictures of landscapes, and flowers, especially sunflowers.
She dearly loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and spending time with them. She was a member of East Huntsville Church of Christ. Elizabeth also loved cooking, sewing, teaching Sunday School Bible Class for little ones, trips to the beach and trips to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Every year she looked forward to seeing the buttercups, forsythia bushes and dogwoods blooming in the spring.
There will be a Graveside service held Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Maple Hill Cemetery.
