Elizabeth (Betty) J. Love, age 88, of Sheffield died Friday, May 20, 2016. Her family will receive friends Monday, May 23, 2016, 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Bedsole officiating and committal service will be at 2 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham.
Mrs. Love was a native of Mobile County but resided in Sheffield most of her life. She was retired from customer service with Bank Independent and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sheffield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Moore Love, Sr.: her parents, George and Grace Jones; and sister, Barbara Fortner.
She is survived by her sons; Joel Moore Love Jr., G. Whitney Love and Jon Charles Love; daughters, Cynthia (Cindy) J. Kirsch and Barbara (Babs) Haddock; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Sheffield or Sheffield Public Library.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice and her sitters; Bonnie Darby and Trina Ricks.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
