Elizabeth (Beth) Rutledge Baker, age 59, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, after a brief illness. Family visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at York Terrace Baptist Church in Sheffield today with a celebration of life at 2 p.m. with Brother Rodney Shewbart officiating.
Beth was a Colbert County native and retired from TVA. She was a member of York Terrace Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery and sang in the church choir. She was a long-time member of the Shoals Praise and Worship Choir and loved praising the Lord with her beautiful voice.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herman (Bubba) Rutledge Sr., and great-niece, Natalie Helton.
She is survived by her mother, Nadine Rutledge; her husband of 20 years, Don Baker; brothers, Earl Rutledge (Cathy), Tony Rutledge (Jenna), and Bobby Rutledge (Rhonda); and sister, Vicky Rutledge; sons, Chris Rutledge, David Baker, and Philip Baker (Erika); two granddaughters, Harley Jayne Baker and Devyn Kyoko Baker; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who adored her.
Beth was a special person. She loved life and had a knack of showing her love of her Lord and Savior. Everyone who saw her knew she was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and Christian. She will be missed by many.
