Elizabeth Ann McFarlen – Obituary

Elizabeth Ann McFarlen, age 82 went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, June 1, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends.

Ann was a loving, compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a committed Christian who actively served the Lord,, and as a result of her faith, many family members became Christians. Ann was a Sunday School teacher for many years and at the time of her death, an active member of the Prime Timers Club.

Ann was born in Huntsville, AL, and grew up in Merrimack Village where she attended Joe Bradley School. She was a member of Murphy Hill Baptish Church.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents James Madison “Mac” and Georgia Speegle and her brother James Speegle.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Bobby McFarlen, and four children Steve McFarlen, Mike McFarlen and wife Debbie, Angie Posey and husband Joe, Scott McFarlen and wife Cindy.

She is also survived by three sisters, Imogene Yarbrough, Nancy Singleton, Dorothy “Tiny” Brewer and husband Pete.

Ann loved her family and was blessed with six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, with whom she spent many wonderful hours.

In addition to these, Ann leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends.
Visitation is Sunday, June 3, 2018, 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home with the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. officiated by Rev. Byran Brooks. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery
