Elise E. Bridges, 90, Florence, passed away peacefully at home
on October 31, 2012.
Mrs. Bridges was a native of Limestone County. She married
Gaston Bridges on June 15, 1940, and served as a faithful wife
during their 60-year marriage in Tuscumbia, Ala.. Not long after Mr.
Bridges died in 2001, she moved to Florence to be closer to her
children.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 3, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
at Cross Point Church of Christ, 1350 Cox Creek Parkway, Florence,
where she was a member. The funeral service will follow there at
1 p.m. with Frank Mills and Dorian Flynn officiating. Burial will be at
Dement Cemetery, Limestone County, Frank Mills officiating.
Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her husband Gaston and
son Joey. She is survived by two sons, one daughter, one sister,
eleven grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren, including Gary
and Margie Wilson Bridges (Bowling Green, Ky.) and their children
Stephen (Brentwood, Tenn.), Allison Pitsinos (Huntsville, Ala.), and
Julie Hamilton (Franklin, Tenn.); Wanda Isom Bridges (daughter-inlaw,
Florence) and her children Shannon (Florence) and Robin
(Huntsville, Ala.); Darwin and Jo Anne Fielder Bridges (Florence) and
their children Amy Flatt (Land O’Lakes, Fla.) and Will (Florence);
Susan and Jay Davis and their children Heather and Josh (Florence)
and Jay Davis III and Shannon Cross (Knoxville.Tenn.).
Other survivors include a sister Robbie Romine (Athens, Ala.) and
a host of nieces and nephews. Honorary family members include
Warren and Becky Skelton and their children, Cristi, Kara, and
Casey, of Niota, Tenn.; and Nick Blom of Karise, Denmark.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to Mars Hill Bible School or Amedisys
(Home Health Care). The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Mann
and the nurses and therapists of Amedisys for their kind and tender
care.
