Mrs. Elga Gullion, age 94 of Union Grove died peacefully at her residence on October 13, 2021. She was born Elga Cora Walker on April 7, 1927 in Marshall County to the late James Dallas and Minnie Whisenant Walker. She was married to the late James Ralph Gullion for 65 years. Together they enjoyed a 28 year career in the U.S.A.F. She stepped up and became a mother and a father during deployment.
Mrs. Gullion was a resourceful homemaker. She was an excellent cook, providing delicious meals for her family. She loved to sew and create ceramics. Mrs. Gullion was a member of Arab Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by 8 brothers and 2 sisters, Luther, John Henry, Chester, Herbert, Vernon, J.D., Willard and Dillard Walker, Mattie Mae Thomason and Elizabeth Leak.
She leaves behind to celebrate her life a son, Robert Gullion (Shirley); and daughter Judy Willis (Robert); 4 grandchildren, Christy (Ryan) McGill, Mark (Amy) Gullion, Ashley (Tracy) Taylor and Dallas (Jill) Gullion; 7 great grandchildren, Matthew & Taylor Ann McGill, Carter Brooks & Knox Gullion and Monica & Brooklyn Taylor.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 17th at 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brad Howard officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Pallbearers escorting Mrs. Gullion are Randy Thomason, William Leak, Mark Gullion, Dallas Gullion, Tracy Taylor and Ryan McGill.
