Mrs. Elenore M. Henry, age 98 of Florence, passed away on May 14, 2025. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 21 at 10am. Burial will immediately follow the mass at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Elenore was married for 34 years to John H. Morris III, her high school sweetheart. They raised four children in a loving, yet disciplined home, with a devotion to God. She was known as “Gran” to eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was married to her second husband, Pete Henry, for 41 years. They were deeply devoted. Throughout her 98 years of life, Elenore demonstrated a deep love for her family, joyful spirit, sense of humor, and strong will.
Mrs. Henry is survived by her children, John H. Morris IV PhD. (Laura), Phillip K. Morris, and Lisa B. Brinkley; stepchild, Steve Henry; grandchildren, John Jospeh Morris, Bill Butler, Ben Butler, Dr. Van K. Morris, Adam Morris, Sarah M. Tennant (Dr. Paul A. Tennant), and Jessica Daniels; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Bernadine McCracken; 1st husband, John H. Morris III, late husband, Alice Theo Henry (Pete), son, Van K. Morris; and siblings, Whitfield McCracken, Harold McCracken, Mary Ann McCracken (maiden), Wanda M. Ammet, and Joyce McCracken (maiden).
Pallbearers for the service are John H. Morris IV PhD., Joseph Morris, Phil Morris, Dr. Van Morris, Adam Morris, and Andrew Mayer.
Services are in the care of Elkins Funeral Home of Florence.
