Funeral Services for Mrs. Eleanor P. Mattox, age 88 of Ashland, will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. Ben Rosser officiating.
Mrs. Mattox passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Ga. She was born in Chicago, Illinois but Clay County was her home for many years. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and had retired after 40 years with the Clay County Hospital and Clay County Nursing Home as the Housekeeping Supervisor. Eleanor loved working with arts and crafts and was very talented. She truly had a servant’s heart, taking care of her family and sharing with others brought her joy. Even though she was a busy person Eleanor was always willing to help, and always went above and beyond.
She is survived by her son, Rusty Mattox (Tammy) of Ranburne, her grandchildren, Stetson Mattox, Montana Hallman (Kyle) and Colton Mattox, her sister, June Koch of Arkansas, her two brothers, Joe Koch of Lineville and Mike Koch of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolf Joseph Koch and Matilda Dwenser Koch, her husband, Joe Mattox, one daughter, Mary Eleanor Mattox, her infant grandsons Joseph and Jerry Mattox, one brother, Billy Koch, and one sister, Marie Koch.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 1:30 P.M. until service time at 3:00 P. M.
