Eleanor E. “Chickie” Barnes, 92, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully Monday at Huntsville Hospital, surrounded by family.
Born in Glassport, PA, she moved to Cleveland, OH and married Ralph Barnes, and in 1959, they moved to Garden Grove, CA. In 1976, they moved to Huntsville, AL to be with their son. However, in 1979, for health reasons, they moved back to CA. In 1989, they moved to Ellenton, FL. In 1993, her husband passed away. In 2007, she moved to Brookdale Place Independent Living, Huntsville. Mrs. Barnes was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her son, Ralph William Barnes and wife, Shirley, of Huntsville; and grandson, John Ormsby and wife Denise, and their daughter, Mikayla.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 8 at Brookdale Place with the Rev. Basye Holland-Shuey officiating. There will be no visitation. No flowers please.
Although her earthly journey is over, she will not be forgotten.
