Elbert Sidney Towe, Jr. age 86 of Madison, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Mr. Towe was born October 16, 1928 to Elbert Sidney Towe, Sr. and Mary Catherine Sisco Towe.
Services will be Saturday, January 10, 2015 2:00 p.m., at Greenbrier Baptist Church with Bro. Rick Lowery and Paul Henderson officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Visitation will be Friday, January 9, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Mr. Towe was a member of Greenbrier Baptist Church and was in the National Guards.
Preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Kay Terry.
Survived by his wife, Beulah Towe of Madison, AL; three sons, Lannie Towe and wife, Shelley, Keith Towe both of Madison, AL and Shane Towe and wife, Lisa of Athens; one daughter, Joyie Adkins and husband, Jeff of Eva, AL; eight grandchildren, Kent Towe, Brandon Towe, Justin Towe, Daniel Terry, Katie Terry, Kana Adkins, Hunter Towe and Nichole Towe; four great-grandchildren, Alex Towe, Josh Towe, Brooklyn Towe and Aiden Towe; one brother, Billy Joe Towe of Greenbrier, AL.
Pallbearers will be Kent Towe, Brandon Towe, Justin Towe, Daniel Terry, Hunter Towe, Daniel Hughes, Ricky Terry and Keith Dobbs.
