Elbert Lyons  Elbert Lyons, 72, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 20, 2025, at NMMC-Tupelo surrounded by his loved ones. Elbert was born in Marietta, MS on August 6, 1952, to Paul and Ila Mae Lyons. After graduating high school from South Pontotoc in 1972, he married his beloved wife, Mary Helen Walls. They were blessed with two children. Elbert had a big personality and never met a stranger. He loved a good joke and always had one to share. He had a lifetime love of vintage cars. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, and spending time with his grands.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Scott Lyons, one grandson, Harrison Tutor, 6 brothers, Gene, Wayne, James, Clint, Clyde, and Sammy Lyons, and his two sisters, Barbara McAlpin and Hazel Houston.
Elbert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Helen Walls, one daughter, Stephanie Tutor (Craig), one daughter-in-law, Amanda Roth (Jason), his 5 grandchildren, Claudia Tutor, Ella Lyons, Layla Tutor, Langston Roth, and Violet Roth, his twin brother, Delbert Lyons (Donna), three sisters, Betty Whitten, Laura Franklin (Donald), and Nancy Phillips (Ronny), and one sister-in-law, Billie Lyons.
Visitation will be 5-7PM Saturday, March 22, 2025, and 1PM until service time of 2PM on Sunday, March 23, 2025, all at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Bro. Lane Finley and Bro. Derick Finley will officiate. Burial will follow in Pontotoc Memorial Gardens. Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be his nephews Mitch Walls, Rick Walls, Glynn Franklin, Tom Walls, Jay Carroll, Nick Carroll, and Ryan Walls.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
