Elbert Fay Parker, 81, died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Booneville, MS. He was born October 12, 1936 in Alabama and was a carpenter for thirty years. He was a member of Big Track Hunting Club.
Services will be Sunday, March 25, 4 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Vina, AL with Bro. Matthew Haney officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Vina, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by four children – Reda Hamilton (Andy) Cherokee, AL, Greg Sparks (Beth) Hodges, AL, Sherry Parker, Vina, AL and Jeff Parker (Susan) Red Bay, AL; seven grandchildren– Charla Lucas, Lacy Hall, Lauren Sparks (Byron), Austin Sparks (Courtney), Alyssa Parker, Alex Parker and AJ Parker; three great-grandchildren – Cooper Sparks, Shepard Sparks and Maeve Shimek; three brothers – Eldon Parker (Barbara) Golden, MS, William Parker of Illinois and Billy Wayne Parker (Vicki) Vina, AL and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Parker and five sisters, Gert Massey, Roberta Murphy, Maxine Barker, Mildred Scott and Geneva Parker.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 24, 5-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL and he will lie in state Sunday, March 25, 2-4 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Vina, AL.
