Elbert Charles “Charlie” Culpepper

Elbert Charles “Charlie” Culpepper of Fort Payne passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Culpepper was a diesel mechanic for the State of Alabama for 37 years and was a cattle farmer.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Fischer Cemetery with Rev. Ron Reynolds officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Howards Chapel Benevolence Fund or your favorite charity.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Patricia Culpepper; children, Marla Leigh Culpepper and Nellie Faye Wynn; special caregiver, Shelia Bailey; 3 nephews; 1 niece; and granddog, Jazz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Ida Culpepper, brother, D.L. Culpepper, and sister, Rosalee Howell.
