Mr. Elbert Arnold Vice, age 76, of Vernon, AL, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, at his residence surrounded by family and friends.
Mr. Vice was born on March 16, 1947, to the late Albert Sidney and Mary Argiel Vice, in Lamar County, AL. He worked with and retired from the Lamar County Road Commission, and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Sidney Leon Vice and John Vice.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 21, at 12:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Charlie Wharton, Michael Keith Gant, and Doug Wharton officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM.
Active pallbearers will be Jesse Vice, Michael Bradford, Kaden Bradford, Coley Gant, Michael Gant, Wesley Parson, Barry Vice, and Bill Drapo. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Ray Vice, Larry Keith Hardy, Scott Vann, and Bryan Vice.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Morgan Vice, of Vernon, AL; two sons, Elbert Ray (Melissa) Vice of Vernon, AL and Delbert (Faith) Vice of Berry, AL; two daughters, Susan Butler of Mississippi and Danell (Joe) Breland of Union, MS; two brothers, Richard (Carolyn) Vice and Earnest Ray Vice; three sisters, Audean Corkrin, Barbara Ann (Frank) Campbell, and Mary Jane (Lonny Gail) Hawkins; his grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Courtney Guyton, Michael Gant, Brittanie (Bill) Drapo, Steven Vice, Coley (Summer) Gant, Jesse Vice, Michael (Jessika) Bradford, Cody (Stacey) Vice, Daphne (Danny) Shaw, Cierra (Brandon) Lahr, and Tori (Wesley) Parson; a host of great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
