Elaine Harris Lowe, 84, of Madison, passed away Wednesday. Elaine was born in Greenville, SC, and resided in Birmingham, AL from the 1940s until 2002 when she retired from Vulcan Material company after 35 years. She then moved to the Huntsville area to be closer to her family. Elaine was an avid Alabama football fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Geneva Hill Harris and Ralph L. Harris; and brother, Ralph Wendell Harris. Survivors include her daughter, Amy Lowe Moore and husband, James DeWese Moore, Jr. of Madison; grandchildren, Casey Elaine Moore Lowrey and husband, Joseph Michael Lowrey of Birmingham, and James DeWese Moore III and wife, Mary Katherine Patenaude Moore of Charleston, SC; sister-in-law, Alice Tyson Harris of Birmingham; nieces, Leisha Elaine Harris Holder and husband, Vance of Birmingham, Patricia Allison Harris Jones and husband, Steve of Franklin, TN (and their children, Natalie and Harris), and Shannon Leigh Harris Shelton and husband, Jim, of Huntsville.
Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Sunday, June 12 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with the funeral service immediately following in the chapel. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham.
