Colonel Edward Langston Wills, USA (Retired), was born on October 21, 1938, in Bertram, Texas, to the late William Durward Wills and Marion Eleanor Mojack. He passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on May 16, 2026, with his wife, Beverly Wallace Wills, by his side at their residence in Meridianville, Alabama.
He grew up in White Settlement, Texas, and graduated from Brewer High School in Fort Worth, Texas. He later earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University.
Colonel Wills served on active duty in the United States Army for 31 years. Following his overseas service, he served as Commander of Anniston Army Depot from 1984 to 1987. He retired from the U.S. Army in August 1990 at Fort Monmouth, NJ. After retirement, he continued his career working for several defense contractors in Huntsville, AL.
He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Larry Lee Wills.
He is survived by the family he loved dearly: his sons, Edward L. Wills Jr., Thomas J. Wills (Michelle), Christopher A. Wills (Kandee), J. Vance Corey (Karen), and Gabriel A. Corey (Meg), and special daughter-in-law, Marisa Wills; his sister, Brenda J. White; his grandchildren, Austin Wills, Matthew Wills, Emily Wills, Grace Hambrick, Kathryn Corey, Andrew Corey, James Corey, Alice Corey, and Ruby Wills; and his great-grandchildren, Ethan Wills, Brayden Krahn, Morgen Krahn, Vincent Krahn, Calvin Krahn, and Elijah Hambrick.
A private interment with the family will be held at a later date, along with a celebration of life.
