The memorial service for Edward E. “Ed” Cobb Jr., age 68 of Roanoke, will be held at his residence on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Ron Newton officiating.
Mr. Cobb passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at his home. He was a native of Tampa, FL and a former resident of College Park, GA where he served his community as a professional firefighter. After 27 years of service, Mr. Cobb retired at the rank of Captain. He was also a seven-year veteran of the U. S. Air Force with overseas duty in the Republic of Korea. Mr. Cobb loved to build and use his carpentry skills. He also dearly loved his family and friends.
Mr. Cobb is survived by his wife, Nina Ann Brown Cobb of Roanoke; two daughters: Carrie Ann Cobb Hayes (Matt) of Kentucky and Abby Sewell of Ashland; one son, Chad Andrew Cobb of Florida; one sister, Sharon Cobb James of Roanoke plus seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward Earl Cobb Sr. and Phyllis Jean Sperry Cobb.
