Edward Dills Jr. age 72 of Athens, passed away on Thursday, February 07, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Dills was born August 5, 1940 in Hiawassee, GA to Edd Dills Sr. and Lizzy Garrett.
Graveside Services for Mr. Dills are Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Roselawn Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Eddie Gooch officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
He served 25 years in the Navy. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He grew up in Bolivar, Ohio. He loved classic cars, working on cars and wood working.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Dills of Magnolia, Ohio; sons, Timothy Allen Dills and wife Melissa of Florida, Stephen Dills of Rogersville, AL and Michael Dills and wife Heather of Lawrenceburg, TN; daughters, Becky Anne Dills of Tanner, AL and Connie Miller and husband Charlie of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Jessie Brown and husband Allen of North Carolina; brother, Lamar Newton and wife Susie of Georgia; Grandchildren, Tara Mashburn, Amanda Sowell, Corina Valdez, Kerry Williams, Jamie Williams, Kaylynn Nance, Taylor Owens, Anthony Dills, Jessica Dills, Zachery Dills, Andrew Dills, Jacob Dills and Camrin Dills; 5 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Tim Dills, Steve Dills, Michael Dills, Anthony Dills, Heath Mashburn, Tim Owens, David Kaduce and Cory Sowell.
