Edward D.C. Dollar, age 79 of Dora, passed away Thursday November 23, 2017 at his residence. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corp. He proudly served his country for four years. He was also a member of Sumiton United Methodist Church.
Funeral service will be Sunday November 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Re. Tom Salter and Rev. Herb Williamson will officiate. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday beginning at 1:00 pm in the chapel.
He was preceded by his father and mother, L.G. and Tressie Dollar; father and mother-in-law, Ernest and Effie Anderson; sister-in-law, Sue Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen Dollar; daughter, Traci Ballard (Randy); grandchildren, Jennifer Layton (Ryan), Jessica Thompson (Gary), Jordan Hancock, Dalena Crawford (Erik), Brandi Seelbinder, and Brittany Goodwin (Devin); several great grandchildren, brother, Bernard Dollar (Ann); sister, Sarah Isaacs; several nieces and nephews.
