EDWARDEdward Austin Campbell, 87, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Sunday May 31, 2015.
Austin was born August 29, 1927 in Lexington, Alabama and lived most of his life in Colbert County.
He was a Charter member of First United Methodist Church of Muscle Shoals where he joyfully worshiped and served for over fifty years. Austin was a proud Member of Lexington Masonic Lodge 613 for over sixty years. He retired from TVA Colbert Steam Plant in 1986.
Preceded in death by his parents James Cleveland and Emma Campbell; four brothers, Jimmie Campbell, Fulton Campbell, Glen Campbell, and JC Campbell; four sisters, Reba Williams, Vernice Truitt, Syble Richardson, and Aurelia Jones.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years Nellie Blye Harvey Campbell; Daughters, Susan Carol Campbell of Muscle Shoals, Kathy Lee Polk (Randy) of Muscle Shoals, and Patricia Gail Cupps (Mark) of Decatur, AL; Grandchildren, Stacy Hooper of Muscle Shoals, Anthony Cupps (Jill) of Collierville, Tennessee, Lori Polk Woods (Daniel) of Birmingham, Alabama, Nick Cupps (Joni) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Adam Polk of Muscle Shoals; and great-grandson Sawyer Cupps of Collierville, Tennessee.
Visitation was Monday evening. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 1 at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Muscle Shoals. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Glenn Conner and Rev. Carol Lambert. Following the service, burial will be at Pettus Cemetery, Lexington, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Cupps, Nick Cupps, Adam Polk, Daniel Woods, Tommy Campbell, and Craig Campbell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to First United Methodist Church of Muscle Shoals Building Fund or the Lexington Masonic Lodge 613 Building Fund, PO Box 141, Lexington, AL 35648.
