Edna Ruth Handley, age 88 of Sheffield, passed away on August 10, 2026. The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia. The service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Ronny Poag officiating the service. The burial will be at Barton Cemetery in Cherokee.
Edna was a native of Cherokee and a lifelong resident of the Shoals area. She retired after 30 years of working with Hibbitts Sporting Goods in Florence.
Edna is survived by her children, Douglas Handley (Shelia) of Sheffield, AL, Susan Melidosian of Belleville, MI; grandchildren, Alan Handley (Rebekah), Allison Winters (Ricky), Bradley Melidosian (Cheyanne); and great-grandchildren, Caden Handley, Callie Waller, Owen Quist, and Autumn Quist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Handley; son, David Handley; parents, William Ira & Elsie Denton; and brothers, Morris Denton, Nolan Denton, and Stan Denton.
The pallbearers will be Alan Handley, Caden Handley, Ricky Denton, Mark Denton, Marlon Hamm, and Preston Smith.
