Edna Ree Stark Twitty – obituary

Edna TwittyEdna Ree Stark Twitty, 79, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018, surrounded by family at her residence. She was born in Pontotoc January 14, 1939, to Raymond and Reba Clayton Stark. She was a Pontotoc High School graduate and attended Itawamba Junior College and Mississippi College. Edna was a homemaker and volunteered as an ambassador at North Mississippi Medical Center for several years. A member of Harrisburg Baptist Church,  she was active with the Merry Makers and was an adult ladies Sunday School teacher for many years.

 

Survivors include; two sons, Richard Twitty and his wife, Lisa of Ramer, Tennessee and Russ Twitty and his wife, Rhonda of Madison; son-in-law, Chris Hester of Tupelo; seven grandchildren, Mallory Holt and her husband, Nick, Madison Twitty, Hunter Twitty, Jackson Twitty, Reese Hester, Beck Hester and Hamp Hester; one great-grandson, Keilyn Holt; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Reba Stark; her husband of 58 years, Richard Charles Twitty, who passed away two weeks ago to the day; daughter, Ree Hester; and one brother, Jerry Stark.

 

Services honoring her life will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2018, at Harrisburg Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Armstrong officiating. Graveside services will follow in Pontotoc Memorial Gardens.

 

Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time Friday, November 16, 2018, at the church.

 

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Mrs. Twitty’s caregivers, especially her sitters, who provided exceptional care and comfort and also to Ernest and Nobie Gunter for all they have done for Mr. and Mrs. Twitty.
