Edna McGhee Scott – Obituary

Graveside service for Edna McGhee Scott, 83, of Decatur will be Saturday, February 16, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Garden of Memories with the Reverend Sandra Locke-Godbey officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Scott, who died Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at her home, was born July 20, 1929, in Dale County to Roy McGhee and Falbie Anderson McGhee. She was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church, a former Sears employee and an avid golfer. Edna was a loving mother, grandmother and very proud great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard O’Neal Scott; two brothers, Roy McGhee and Tony McGhee; and parents.

Survivors include one son, Richard Glenn Scott of Decatur; one daughter, Kim Scott Ingram and husband, Clayton, of Cullman; one brother, Mike McGhee of Sylacauga; three grandchildren, Matt and Mary Helen Ingram of Cullman, Tyler Scott of Daphne and Meredith and Tony Easterwood of Athens; and two great-grandchildren, Harper Ann Easterwood and Katherine Ann Ingram.

Pallbearers will be Clayton Ingram, Matt Ingram, Tyler Scott, Tony Easterwood, Rusty Buster, Larry Sturges and Jeff Sellers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 240 Johnston St. SE, Decatur, AL 35601 or Decatur General Foundation, P.O. Box 2239, Decatur, AL 35609.
