Mrs. Edna P. Love Sanders Our beloved Edna Love Sanders left us to be with our Savior and Lord on October 27, 2024. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.  Edna was born on November 9, 1940, in Huntsville, Alabama. She was the oldest child of the late James and the late Velma Love. Edna accepted Christ at an early age and during her Christian journey has been a member of the 19th Street Church of Christ, Northwest Church of Christ, and Chase Park Church of Christ. During her formative years she lived in Huntsville, Alabama and graduated from William Hooper Councill High School. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Alabama A&M University. After graduating from college, she married Ollie Sanders, relocated to Sheffield, Alabama, and together they had a son Dewayne. Edna continued to strive for educational excellence, eventually earning her Master of Education Degree from the University of North Alabama. Edna had a passion for teaching and was employed by the Alabama Education Association for over 30 years. During her stellar career, she was beloved by students and families at Farmers Capital School (Huntsville, AL) and New Bethel Elementary (Tuscumbia, AL). Edna enjoyed giving to her students and giving back to her community. She has been a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated since her initiation in 1995 into the Muscle Shoals Area Alumnae Chapter.

She is preceded in death by her parents the late James and Velma Love, and siblings Theodore and Walter Lee. She leaves to celebrate her life siblings: Dorothy Wilson, James Eddie Love, Jacqueline Love, Linda Faye Love, Delora Brown (Jeffrey), her son, Dewayne Sanders (Denise), and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW Huntsville, AL 35810) with Brother John E. Branch officiating.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Huntsville Alumnae Chapter will have the Omega Omega service 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories.
