Mrs. Edna "Fay" Simmons Edna “Fay” Simmons, age 87, of Albertville, Alabama, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on April 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Fay’s faith was the cornerstone of her life, evident through her 60-year membership at Antioch Baptist Church. She found solace and strength in her relationship with her Lord and Savior, and her devotion to her family was unwavering.
A woman of many talents, Fay was a member of the Albertville Art League. She found joy in singing, sewing, and oil painting. Fay loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. Fay’s past time included tendering to her beautiful yard, a testament to her love for nature.
Fay leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 70 years, Thomas Simmons; her loving children, Barbara Brock (Randy) and Mike Simmons (Kim); grandchildren, Jonathan Spurlin (Keri), Jake Spurlin, Chris Berry (Kayla), JT Berry (Deena), Meagan Simmons Grace, step-grandchildren Andrew Brock (Jennifer) and Bradley Brock (Abigail); eight great-grandchildren; her brother Ray Brown (Judy); and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Vida Lee Brown; brother, Charles Brown (Linda).
A funeral service to honor Fay’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Antioch Baptist Church, 130 1st Street, Albertville, Alabama with visitation hours from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at the church. Pastor Justin Childres, along with Jonathan Spurlin and Jake Spurlin, will officiate the service. Pallbearers, including Lawrence Pankey, Mike Fielder, Jonathan Spurlin, Jake Spurlin, Chris Berry, and JT Berry, will assist in accompanying Fay to her final resting place at Memory Hill Cemetery in Albertville.
