Funeral services for Edna F. Amos, age 79, of Elora, will be conducted Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Oakley Baptist Church in New Market, AL with Rev. Don Schultz and Rev. Charlie Hammons officiating. Burial will follow in Elora Cemetery. Mrs. Amos passed away Thursday evening in Huntsville Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Amos was a native of Madison County, AL, the daughter of the late Roy and Sadie Cantrell Fenn. She was retired from NASA and a member of the Oakley Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Charles D. Amos, Elora, TN, daughters Carol Brothers and husband Andy of Chapel Hill, TN, Brenda Showalter and husband Michael, Betty Amos, son Charlie Amos and wife April all of Elora, TN, grandchildren Cortney Tankersley and husband James, Rex Brothers, Hunter Brothers, Amanda Stewart and husband Lee, Matthew King and wife Jillian, Forrest King, Clay Gill, Jessica Tittsworth, Brandon Amos, Dalton Amos, great grandchildren Colman Brothers, Preston Stewart, Jackson Stewart, Easton Stewart, sisters Estelle Howard of Elora, TN, Pauline Craft of Huntsville, AL, Nellie Jacks of Elora, TN, Doris Carpenter of Gulf Shores, AL and brother James Fenn of Huntsville, AL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Ozell Harris and Helen Jett.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 4 until 7 pm at Higgins Funeral Home, Fayetteville, TN.
