Edith Wilson Dodson – Obituary

Edith Wilson Dodson, age 93 of Jasper, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at her residence. Born in Tampa, FL, and raised in Decatur, AL, but later resided in Jasper, AL. Edith worked for the phone company and JC Penney before she retired. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jasper for many years. Edith was a kind and gentle lady who always believed for the best. Her family and friends will fondly remember her love of hot tea, her sweet nickname Tootie, and her beautiful white hair. She was a devoted wife to her husband Bob, mother to her daughter Patricia, and grandmother to Kristin Bailey. She is a woman whose presence will surely be missed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Friday, November 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery. Tex Ergle will officiate.

Mrs. Dodson was preceded in death by her Father-James Wilson; Mother-Edith Williams Wilson; Husband-Robert Dodson; Daughter-Patricia Dodson Bailey; Granddaughter-Leigh Ann Bailey; Brothers-Alfred Wilson and Robert Wilson; Sisters-Alice Terry and Nancy Moore.

She is survived by her Granddaughter-Kristin Renee Bailey; 9 Nieces and Nephews; Host of relatives and devoted friends.
