Edith Houston Cropp, 87, of Huntsville entered into her Savior’s loving arms Friday.
Mrs. Cropp was born into a loving family in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Growing up as an only child she was blessed with close relationships with many first cousins, including Housteene Hays Prior who was like a sister to her.
Mrs. Cropp retired as a civil servant from MICOM. She was a devoted member of Northminster and, later, Big Cove Presbyterian Church. She was lovingly married to Norman L. Cropp Jr. for 55 years, was a wonderful mother to her own two children and deeply loved her grandchildren. While her home was always brightened by many different types of pets throughout the years, she always had a special fondness for cats. Her daily joys included time spent talking with neighbors, fellow church members, and regularly attending pilates.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and is survived by her son, Houston Cropp of West Chester, Pa; daughter, Geralee Bayless and husband, Michael of Hampton Cove; and grandchildren, Cary Bayless and Leiron Bayless.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Tuesday, October 3rd at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg, Tenn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethbirei Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 2752, Lewisburg, TN 37091.
