Edith “Edee” Louise Holden of Mountain Brook, born August 1, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital of Birmingham, the beloved daughter of Louise and Heath Holden, passed away on October 4, 2018. At the time of her passing, Edee was surrounded and comforted by immeasurable love and support of family, friends, and amazing caregivers. Although her time with us was short, Edee left a lasting impression on all of those who met her – and also on those who did not. Edee’s smile, big bright eyes, and strength will endure forever.

In addition to her parents, Edee is survived by Camie Griffin (maternal grandmother); Sue Pritchard (maternal great-grandmother); Ann and Gailon Holden (paternal grandparents); Alice and Joe Griffin (aunt and uncle); Riley and Thomas Griffin (aunt and uncle); numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends who loved Edee so very much.

Edee is predeceased by Joseph Lee Griffin (maternal grandfather); Donald Pritchard (maternal great-grandfather); Martha and Tom Griffin (maternal great-grandparents); Edith Bray and Allen Briggs (paternal great-grandparents); and Thedry and James Holden (paternal great-grandparents).

Louise and Heath would like to especially thank the incredible NICU nurses and doctors at Children’s Hospital of Alabama for their overwhelming and generous care, support, and love for Edee during her time at Children’s Hospital. Words cannot do justice to describe the amount of love and care shown to Edee during her time of need.

There will be a memorial service open to family and friends on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s on the Highlands Episcopal Church, Birmingham, Alabama.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Alabama Children’s Hospital Foundation, 1600 7th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233.
