Edith Earline Dodd Brewer was born June 4, 1926 and died Dec. 15, 2016 at the age of 90 years at Glenwood Nursing Home. Her parents were Berry Albert (died Mar. 23, 1959) and Rosie Lee Henson Dodd (died Nov. 29, 1927). On Sept. 8, 1940, she married Jasper Carl Brewer who preceded her in death on April 22, 2005.
Survivors are sons, Jasper (Terry), Joe (Helen), Jerry (Rene), Larry (Linda); daughter, Janie Bogus (Sonny); grandchildren, Braxton (Natalie), Eric (Kim), Jay (Donna), Sonya (Bryan), Richard, Sandra, Tim, JoAnne (Darren), Leah (Goss), Chad, Brian (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Caleb (Katelyn), Josh, Levi, Brylee, Christopher, Lara, Reagan, Haley, Presley, Anna, and Bryant; nieces, Ella Rose Williams (Douglas) and Glenda Davis (Tom). She is also survived by the children of Clovis and Lavinia Brewer; special friends, Kathleen Hayes, Liz Daniel, Elsie Berry, Billie Wilson, and many others.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by grandson, James Lee Brewer; brothers, Leo, R. A., Leland, and Leonard Dodd; sister, Josie Heard; niece, JoNell Cross; and nephew, Ronald Fay Brewer. She had been a member of Fairview Church of Christ since 1951.
Services will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee with James Paul Nobles officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from noon to service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Braxton, Eric, and Jay Bogus, Richard, Tim, Chad, and Brian Brewer. Honorary pallbearers are Carl Fred Daniel, Robert Cook, and Donald Ray, Clovis, Edwin, David, and Randall Brewer, and the men from Fairview Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Whitten’s Cross Roads Cemetery fund at Bank of Collinwood.
