Edgar Waldo Farrington, Jr. – Obituary

Edgar Waldo Farrington, Jr., was born in Brownsville, TN, on March 31, 1949. He was the oldest child born to the late Edgar Waldo “Doss” Farrington and Elizabeth Bond Farrington Mormon. He departed this earthly life on January 30, 2017, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Los Angeles, CA.

He shared a special relationship with his aunt and uncle, the late Joe Frye and the late Opal “Lou” Farrington Frye. He accepted faith in Christ and was baptized at Beech Grove Church of Christ. He attended public schools in Haywood County, TN. In 1962, he moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he completed high school. Soon after graduation, he married the late Janie Alvarez. In 2007, he remarried and was joined in holy matrimony to Dawn Dickerson. She cared for him lovingly throughout his lengthy illness.

Mr. Farrington was employed by Pacific Motor Trucking and Union Pacific Railroad Teamsters in Los Angeles. He enjoyed playing golf. Most of all, he enjoyed caring for his family.

He joined in eternity his son, the late Edgar Waldo “Flip” Farrington, III, his father the late Edgar Waldo Farrington, his brother, the late Charles Edward Farrington and his former wife the late Janie Alvarez.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Dawn Marie Dickerson Farrington of Los Angeles, CA, a daughter, Tanisha Farrington Gutierrez of Los Angeles, CA, a son, Michaux Love-Farrington of Seattle, WA, his mother, Elizabeth Bond Farrington Mormon (Don) of Mansfield, OH. He was the brother of Thomas Farrington Hess ( Barbara) of Jackson, TN, Mary Farrington Mabon (MacArthur) of Decatur, IL, David Earl Farrington (Evette) of Chicago, IL, Leon Farrington of Los Angeles, CA, Samuel “King” Bond of Milwaukee, WI and Frederick Bond of Los Angeles, CA.. He was the brother-in-law to Goldie Farrington of Los Angeles, CA. He was the stepfather of Brandon and Trenton Wilmington. He also leaves a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.

Is tbat all u can say regarding my fathers death? U shouldnt even claim farrington what part of u is a farrington u couldnt go see my dad b4 he passed. But what goes around comes around u will get yours.
