Edgar Eli Brooks, Jr. was born in McNairy County, Tennessee on May 31, 1926, the son of Edgar and Nealie Brooks. He departed this life on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at the age of 88 years, 8 months, 4 days.
On August 8, 1943, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Martin, who survives. They had two children, Johnny and Kimba; three grandchildren, Marc, Ginger, and Lee; three great-grandchildren, Regan, Reese, and Eli.
He was a faithful member of Hurrican Primitive Baptist Church for 65 years. He was a farmer and barber, retiring at the age of 81.
He was the last survivor of eight siblings.
