Edgar “Ed” Othell Newell, age 75, Haleyville, AL. passed away peacefully at his home Saturday February 27, 2016. He was Baptist.
A time of Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday March 5, 2016 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, Al., with his Memorial Service at 11:00AM in the Chapel, with Bo Shedd officiating.
He was an industrious and hardworking man who always stood up to the challenges of adversity. He was a great teacher, Husband, Father and Grandfather whose absence will be felt for a long time, he will be missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Annilyn Newell; children, Michael (Connie) Newell and Melissa Newell; grandchildren, Claire and Mary Caroline; brother, Don Kelley; sister in law, Darlene Newell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Annie Mae Newell; brother, Larry Newell.
In Lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Eldridge Children’s Home at P.O. Box 8, 86 Academy Drive Eldridge, Alabama 35554.
