A Military Funeral Service with Honors, for Eddie Paul Cahoon, 81, will be Monday, January 26, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Cedar Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Kenneth Terry officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, January 26, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cedar Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
Mr. Cahoon passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born November 10, 1944, in Newbern, North Carolina, to Leman Dallas Cahoon and Edna Earl Hardy Cahoon.
He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, was a Vietnam Veteran, and was also employed by Boeing for 17 years. He was a Mason at Nunn-Oden Lodge, was well respected in his church and community, was a Deacon for Cedar Creek Freewill Baptist Church and had a life-long Military career. He also worked on the Space Station. He enjoyed shrimp fishing.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters- Lamar Mardelle Cahoon, and Jewel Oster, a brother- Charles Cahoon, and a son- Eddie Paul Cahoon, Jr.
Survivors include:
Wife – Sharon Fridley Cahoon,
Son – Jason Cahoon,
Brother – Dallas Cahoon (Kathy),
Sisters – Kay Fitzgerald and
Alvinia Scott,
Five Grandchildren – Christopher Cahoon, Matthew Cahoon, Jacob Cahoon, Anthony Brown, and Allyson Cahoon.
Three Great Grandchildren – Tatum, Silas, and Charlie Cahoon.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Cahoon, Jacob Cahoon, Jason Haggard, and Jason Cahoon,
