 Eddie "Mutt" Murray Clark, Sr.Eddie “Mutt” Clark Sr., 89, of Gurley, passed away Monday.

Mutt was born in New Hope, AL in 1929, the 2nd of 5 children. He worked on the family farm until 1954 when he married the love of his life (the prettiest witch at the Halloween party), Ann. Together they moved to Chicago, IL where they lived for 9 years and started a family. Upon returning to Alabama in 1963, He established their family home on Keel Mountain in Gurley, Al, He worked for over 34 years at Norton (Saint Gobain) where he retired in 1997. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He especially loved hosting the annual July 3rd/July 4th cookout. He was dedicated in his work life and home life. His calm demeanor provided a stability that was the foundation of his family. And his jokes and one liners provided needed entertainment and laughter at good times and bad times. Mutt attended the First Baptist Church in Gurley, AL, gave his life to his Lord and Savior and was baptized Easter 2014. He will be missed on this earth, but will be waiting for all of his family and friends in Heaven, with his dominoes ready for a game.

He was preceded in death by father, Emmett Motes Clark; mother, Eddy Malda Myers Clark; son, Eddie Murray Clark, Jr.; brothers, Earl Clark, Ray Clark, and Jimmy Don Clark.

Surviving are wife, Ann Mefford Clark; sister, Nannie Mae Maples; sons, Doug (Lea) Clark, Steve (Jennifer) Clark, Phillip (Jennifer) Clark, and Michael (Selena) Clark; daughter, Tricia (Jeff) Biggs; 14 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.

Pallbearers will be, Dewayne Clark, Greg Clark, Steve Bearden, Paul Clemons, Ricky Rodriquez, and Norm Duffel.

Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home, Thursday at 1:00 PM with Bro. Shane Rodriquez officiating.

Interment will be in the Hayden Cemetery.
