Mr. Eddie Dewayne Yates, 56, passed away Wednesday May 19, 2021 at the Cookeville Regional Hospital in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was born in Spencer, Tennessee on March 2, 1965.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Edward Yates Jr.; son, Kyle Yates.
He was a former Fire Chief for the Spencer Fire Department and was a certified EMT.
He is survived by his mother and step father, Willene and J.C. Bayless Jr; son, Kelly (Zahyra) Yates, Fort Meade, MD; daughter, Kristen Farmer, Spencer; sisters, Teresa Jeannette, Spencer and Elaine (Troy) Lockhart, Sparta; grandchildren, Corbin, Kayden, Kayliegh and Eian; niece, Taylor.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Minister R.C. Christian officiating with burial to follow in the Walling Cemetery. Visitation: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Spencer, Tennessee.
