Eddie A. Prestage, Jr., 85, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Centre, AL to Edgar A. Prestage and Ila L. Clement Prestage. He was retired from Mueller Copper Tube where he worked in maintenance and he also was a locksmith. Eddie attended Chapel Hill Church of God of Prophecy.
Services will be Monday, August 25, 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Marty Raybon and Bro. Jackie Hastings officiating. Visitation will be Monday, August 25, 11-1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Betty Sexton Prestage; two daughters, Tamara Prestage and Jill Dunlap (David); two granddaughters, Haley Cole (Devon) and Hannah Dunlap; two great-grandchildren, Jensen Cole, Ember Swindle and soon to be third great-grandchild; three sisters, Berldeen Prestage Orrick, Barbara Prestage Kay and Virginia Prestage Scott (Joe) and brother-in-law, Ralph Sexton (Martha).
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Ruth Hamm, Dorothy Stepp and Elizabeth Nix.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Ragsdale, L.B. Stegall, Coleman Vasser, Orville Wigginton and Jon McWilliams.
